Dr. Cale Bjornstad

Veterinarian

Dr. Cale Bjornstad became a partner at Indian Hammer Veterinary Service in 2004. He graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Bjornstad has a keen interest in large animal medicine and reproduction.

Dr. Bjornstad is a native Montanan who grew up north of Joplin MT. He is a skilled trap shooter and enjoys riding his snow mobile during the winter months.

Dr. Trace Nydam

Veterinarian

Dr. Trace Nydam became a partner at Indian Hammer Veterinary Service in 2005. He graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and has a special interest in small animal orthopedic surgery. He has 20 years of experience and extensive post graduate training in both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Nydam is from John Day Oregon and now lives in Great Falls, MT. He is a skilled carpenter in his down time and enjoys hiking. He has one entertaining dog, a Rat Terrier, Jack, that keeps his house lively.

Amanda Spencer - Veterinarian

Dr. Amanda Spencer

Veterinarian

Dr. Amanda Spencer became an associate at Indian Hamer Veterinary Service in 2023. She graduated from University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Spencer has a passion for equine sports medicine, calf health and food animal medicine.

Dr. Spencer and her husband moved here from Wisconsin where she grew up. They have three dogs, two horses and a cat to keep her busy. She enjoys reading, hiking, hunting, fishing, and riding her horses in her free time.

Melanie Richert

office manager

Melanie Richert is our office manager. She has worked at the clinic for 20 years. When she’s not at the clinic she enjoys farming and ranching with her husband and 2 children. She helps her husband and his family in putting on the annual Open Gate Ranch bull sale held every March.

Stephanie Warehime

head technician

Stephanie Warehime is our head technician. She is an MSU graduate and started her veterinary technician career in Bozeman, MT in 2005. She loves spending her days in the surgery room and tending to hospitalized patients. When not at work she helps her husband on the ranch and spends time with her two boys. She enjoys horseback riding, fishing, skiing, and camping with her family.

Janessa Freeman

Technician

Janessa Freeman is our recently graduated Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) from PIMA Medical Institute 2022 in Dillon MT. She loves helping with both large and small animals at our practice, dental cleanings, and in the surgery room.

Outside of the clinic she enjoys playing with her two boxers (Nimbus & Ember), horseback riding, camping, snowboarding, cooking, and traveling.

Keely Young

Keely Young has been a veterinary assistant with us since December of 2021. She is enthusiastic about helping everyone in the clinic with any necessary task. She brings a lot of laughs and joy to the environment at the clinic.

Outside of the clinic she spends time with her family and two dogs (Bear & Riley) and enjoys working with her horses. She loves camping and attending/competing in barrel racing competitions.

 

 

 

Hannah Rhodes

Hannah Rhodes is our youngest assistant. She started in Febuary 2021 as an intern with hopes of going to college to become a CVT in the fall. She loves working with the dogs and horses.

In her spare time, she stays active in 4-H, raising sheep and showing her horse. She loves to play with her dog Mozzie and being outdoors.

Mariah Schott

Receptionist

Mariah Schott has been with us since August of 2022. She grew up in Stanford Montana and has always had a love for animals – large and small. She has an Old English Bulldog named Kooper who has a knack of making her presence known while at the clinic. Most of the time you will find Mariah up front assisting clients as they walk in but she will rarely turn down the opportunity to help in the back with patients.

Outside of the clinic, Mariah enjoys camping & hiking, fishing, riding horses, and spending time with her family.

 

 

Laura Stahancyk

Receptionist

Laura Stahancyk started with us July of 2023. She grew up on a ranch in central Oregon and 10 years ago decided to move to Montana. She loves animals large and small. She especially loves her heeler dog and loves working with horses.

Outside of the clinic, Laura loves hunting, fishing, riding horses, working on the ranch and hanging out with family.
